Dogecoin is continuously gaining mass adoption especially after various high-net-worth individuals including Elon Musk and Mark Cuban endorsed it. The DOGE price has surged in value once more, gaining nearly 20% in value in the past week as traders declared April 20 as ‘Doge Day.’

In that context, a petition asking Amazon to accept the Dogecoin crypto has gathered at least 203,000 signatures on change.org.

It states that the tech giant should accept Dogecoin as a method of payment on its e-commerce site since the firm is a ‘leader in innovation.’ The petition reads:

“Dogecoin is fast, cheap, and stable. It is stable in value, has the lowest transaction fee of other major coins, has a huge supply of coins, and has a very large, active community with ongoing development.”

Amazon currently does not accept cryptos as payment, but it appears as the petition urges it to become one of the first major firms that can enjoy the power of Dogecoin (DOGE). Moreover, the petition adds that Dogecoin is already used by small business owners, entrepreneurs, and charity organizations worldwide.

In 2013, Shiba Inu dog meme-themed Dogecoin launched, and it rapidly gained a major online following. The crypto’s popularity was given a boost in 2021 when tech billionaire Elon Musk sent its value exploding after he mentioned it in a tweet. Also, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban endorsed the crypto this year. Many now believe that the crypto will hit $1 by the end of the year.
